WTC 2025: A Global Gathering for the Transplant Community
Once a decade, our global transplant community comes together for a truly unique event, the World Transplant Congress. WTC 2025 is more than just a meeting; it’s a celebration of the work we do, the patients we serve, and the progress we’ve made together. It’s a space for collaboration, innovation, and connection that transcends borders, backgrounds, and politics.
We understand that international travel can bring challenges—logistical, financial, and in some cases, political. But your presence is not only welcomed—it is essential. You are part of this story, and your voice belongs in the room.
This year, we’re proud to host WTC 2025 in San Francisco, one of the most internationally connected and culturally diverse cities in the United States. Known for its spirit of innovation, global influence, and history of welcoming people from around the world, San Francisco is a fitting backdrop for this extraordinary global exchange. It’s more than a destination, it’s a gateway for ideas, collaboration, and progress.
We are here to support you in making this journey.
To help our international delegates prepare, read the helpful travel tips below:

Apply for a U.S. visa early – Visa processing times vary, so we recommend applying as soon as possible.

As a precaution, once registered, you will receive a letter of invitation, which will include WTC2025 letterhead, the dates of the conference, and confirmation that the purpose of the visit is to attend meetings at the conference.
This letter will help maintain consistency in documentation and prevent misunderstandings at immigration checkpoints. Having the correct documentation will ensure a smoother entry process and help avoid any unintended miscommunication about the nature of your visit.

Confirm your visa type – Double-check that you are applying for the correct category.

Gather supporting documentation – Include proof of registration, hotel bookings, return flights, and connections to your home country (employment, family, etc.).

Review any transit requirements – If passing through another country, confirm if transit visas or other entry conditions apply.

Stay up to date on border policies – Requirements can shift, so monitor your local U.S. embassy or consulate website.

Carry printed copies of key documents – While digital versions help, physical copies of your visa, invitation, and travel plans are recommended.

Clear and Accurate Statements at Immigration – Be precise about the nature of your visit and have supporting documentation ready if needed.

Ensure name consistency – Double-check that your name matches exactly across all travel and visa documents

We recognize the sacrifices you make to attend time away from home, patients, and colleagues—and we promise to make this experience worthy of that effort. WTC 2025 is a once-in-a-decade gathering and we are thrilled to have you join us as we shape the future of transplantation.
